Metro 2033 developer 4A Games revealed ARKTIKA.1, a VR first-person shooter in development exclusively for Oculus Touch.
ARKTIKA.1 will take players nearly a century into the future, where the planet has entered a new ice age after a “silent apocalypse.” Players will become a mercenary in the remains of old Russia, charged with protecting one of the planet’s last pockets of civilization from raiders, vicious creatures, and other enemies.
ARKTIKA.1 will allow players to explore a mix of post-apocalyptic and sci-fi environments, and users will come across a variety of customizable weapons and attachments over time.
As a virtual reality game, ARKTIKA.1 will feature full body movement, allowing players to touch, dodge, and take cover during battles. The game promises “intuitive controls” that will give players a realistic gameplay experience.
ARKTIKA.1 is expected to launch for Oculus Touch in Q3 2017. The game’s exact price and launch date have yet to be revealed.
With the help of Novy Unlimited, ARKTIKA.1 has already been covered by a number of outlets, including Polygon, Game Informer, and UploadVR, among others.
