BadLand Games and Thomas Happ Games announced a physical edition of Axiom Verge will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U. Called the Multiverse Edition, the special edition will contain a variety of extras perfect for any fan of the award-winning action adventure game.
In Axiom Verge, players become a man named Trace, who wakes up on an alien world called Sudra following a lab accident. Players will help Trace explore the world and uncover its secrets on his quest to defeat an enemy named Athetos.
As a “Metroidvania”-style experience, Axiom Verge allows players to explore a variety of interconnected areas, and collect numerous tools, abilities, and upgrades as they progress. Players will need to use their complete arsenal to defeat the game’s enemies and bosses, and they can also take advantage of in-game “glitches,” which allow them to move beyond traditional gameplay boundaries.
Finally, Axiom Verge also includes a Speedrun mode, which has a “streamlined interface and additional features.”
The Multiverse Edition of Axiom Verge will contain the following items:
- Copy of the game
- Deluxe booklet with developer’s commentary and art
- Double-sided poster
- Exclusive making-of documentary on DVD
Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition is expected to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U in Q2 2017 at a price of €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99. A separate Standard Edition will also be released physically on PlayStation 4 for €19.99 / $19.99 / £14.99.
