Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy is coming to iOS and Android on July 20, and Nintendo 3DS in early fall 2017. To celebrate the game’s launch, LEVEL-5 and SCRAP (known for its “Real Escape Game”) are bringing to life Layton’s Mystery Journey: Real World Puzzle Solving, an unprecedented 10-country promotion that challenges Layton fans to solve 50 puzzles around the world — starting today in Japan.

The promotion will be held over a three-month period – between June 20 (Tuesday) and September 21 (Thursday). Starting in Japan, the event will then expand to nine other countries. In fact, the inaugural puzzle is presented today by Pikotaro, creator of the viral song “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)”:

Layton fans can participate in the Real World Puzzle Solving adventure by going to the promotion’s official website. There’s nothing to download – and no registration is required: http://layton.world

Throughout the promotion, puzzles will pop up in New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Sydney, Seoul, Tokyo, and more. Try and solve them all!

The Real World Puzzle Solving promotion has been featured in a number of outlets – including Kotaku, Destructoid, My Nintendo News, GoNintendo, CrunchyRoll, and Anime News Network.
