Heart&Slash is a 3D brawler that is set in a world where machines are all that remains from the Human civilization. Every death is permanent and means a new randomly generated level for you to start over with a different set of weapons and items you can use, new enemies to fight and secrets to explore.

Heart&Slash is a fun 3D brawler that features a great assortment of rogue-like features. Heart himself is a lovable character that makes you genuinely feel happy to play as, whilst the dystopian world around him is vibrant and a treat to look at.”

Get Your Heart Pounding & Slash Your Way to Love in the Dungeon-Crawler, Robot Love Story of the Year, Heart&Slash

MADRID — June 8, 2016 — BadLand Games and aheartfulofgames are proud to announce the upcoming launch of 3D brawler Heart&Slash on June 24th to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 worldwide. The PC version has been on Steam Early Access, and the final version is due in August in all territories.

Play as Heart, a malfunctioning robot, fighting for your identity against the minions of standardization. Along the way, you meet Slash — a rough veteran of the dystopian world where Heart&Slash takes place. You’ll try to capture Slash’s attention through several playthroughs, but how you do this will depend on you. Each quest (or chance to woo Slash) incorporates a couple of opportunities that will define the relationship … and the story’s ending: Will you choose independence, or will you change in order to be loved? Or will you find a balance that will allow the relationship to thrive?

Key Features

  • Fight using 75 different weapons and 60 different body parts that will change the way the game plays. Teleport, stop time, fly with a jetpack, wall-jump, discover enemy weaknesses, and more. From the trivial to the game-changing, you can try thousands of different combinations.
  • Die and try again. Permadeath means Heart&Slash is not an easy game — but dying shouldn’t matter, since robots can be cloned easily and indefinitely. Every time you start a new game, the levels you fight through and the items or weapons you collect will change.
  • Unique art style that will bring back the memories of game systems long gone.
  • Almost no downtime. Levels are short and brutal — and the game should not be too taxing on your time (in a successful run, which is not guaranteed)! Ultimately, playing Heart&Slash is not about mastering one system. Instead, it’s about being able to adapt to what you are given and making the best out of it.

Juan Raigada, Creative Director at aheartfulofgames, feels that Early Access was an important step in Heart&Slash’s development because “while we Kickstarted the game and had enough funding to see it through to completion, we reached a stage in development where we felt the need to gather as much feedback as possible to make the best game we could.” After three years of development and taking the constructive criticism of Early Access players into account, Heart&Slash will be making its worldwide debut on console and desktop platforms. The title will also be getting a retail release in select territories.

Availability
Heart&Slash will launch on June 24, 2016 to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 worldwide. The desktop version has been available on Steam Early Access; the final release (Windows/Mac/Linux) will launch in August (all territories).

Lovable Robot Roguelike Heart&Slash Graduates to Steam with a Price Cut

Now available on Windows, Mac & Linux for only $13.49

MADRID — Aug. 9, 2016 — The 3D brawler/roguelike-hybrid Heart&Slash is now on Steam. After a successful Early Access debut in 2014, the Kickstarter-funded title is ready to make its mark on Steam with a special launch price of $13.49 (normally $14.99) for 1 week only!

Take on the role of Heart, a malfunctioning robot, and fight for your identity against the monolithic QuAsSy (Quality Assurance Systems) — an evil machine obsessed with robots that look and sound the same. Meet Slash — dashing veteran of the Robolution. Can you capture Slash’s attention over several playthroughs? Fair warning: Each quest is an opportunity to woo (or anger!) the old-timer. Your choices will define the relationship between the two robots. Go for a killing blow, and you might end the relationship before it even begins. Choose love, and victory could slip through your mechanical fingers …

Heart&Slash is published by BadLand Games and created by Spanish developer, aheartfulofgames:

“We’re beyond excited to leave Steam Early Access on such a high note,” says Juan Raigada, Creative Director at aheartfulofgames. “Our time on Early Access was invaluable. We got the opportunity to interact with and listen to a very passionate user base — using feedback to make Heart&Slash the game we always hoped it could be. Thank you, Kickstarter and Steam communities!”
